Carrot-Pear Raw-grola

What is raw-grola? For me it is a raw granola made of healthy veggies, fruits, seeds, nut, spices, etc. I like to experiment and throw together different combinations according to what I have on hand. Today I am having a carrot-pear raw-grola for breakfast.

Carrot-Pear Raw-grola ~ 6 Plus points

Ingredients
1 cup of julienned carrots
1 medium bosc pear cored and chopped into bite sized pieces
1 Tablespoon raw pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup pomegranate arils
2 teaspoons honey
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions
Mix the carrots, pear, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate arils in a soup bowl. Mix the honey & cinnamon together before drizzling over your fruit, veggie and seed mix. Stir and eat. Makes one very generous and filling serving.

Note: In the winter you may need to heat the honey slightly to make it less viscous.

One week in

It has been one week since I started my endeavor. I have not been perfect in tracking my points, always making healthy choices, starting to exercise, etc. But I have increased the amount of fiber and water in my diet, making sure to add more vegetables and limit my portions. I was pleased to accomplish a 3.5 pound loss even though I know it's primarily water. I have a relative trying to convince me of her miraculous weight loss due to her expensive MLM supplement. In addition to wanting to lose weight for my health, I would love to prove that healthy eating and exercise are the key, not spending $100 plus a month on "magic" supplements that are supposed to cure all your ailments plus make you look like a super model.
